How much do sessions cost?
Bespoke individual sessions begin at £45/hour or £25/half hour at Common Entrance level; some younger students find that a half-hour slot works better for them. The cost will be higher if you are asking me to take sole responsibility for your child's tuition (i.e. they are not already studying Latin in school) and/or for GCSE/A level tuition.
Where will the tutoring take place? Do you work online?
I offer online tutoring using Zoom (much better than Skype!) which allows me to share my screen with you. I simply send you a link to a web page and the software downloads in seconds. All you will need is a reliable internet connection at a decent speed; you'll also need to be able to hear me!
I offer face-to-face tutoring from my own home, which is in the village of Horsell in Woking. I have a dedicated and comfortable tutoring room in a quiet part of the house. Parking is largely unrestricted and generally not a problem.
How do I know whether the sessions will be useful?
In general, students find that tutoring makes such a difference to their confidence in the subject that they are only too keen to stick with it. However, there is no contract or commitment on your part to tutoring, so it will be entirely up to you and your child whether you wish to continue and how many sessions you would like to have. Some students like to have longterm support, others just appreciate a few booster sessions in the run up to their exams. As a general rule, the sooner you come to me, the more I can do to help; that said, it's never too late and I have had a huge impact on students who have approached me just weeks or even days before their examination.
Can I book a trial session?
